Our lactation cookies are also low in sugar. We are conscious that mums want to lose all that pregnancy weight and take in only good calories and not the bad.

The short answer is: Yes.

But keep in mind that lactation cookies are not a miracle cure, and you should know when to consult a doctor. For example, if you have a chronically low milk supply, insufficient milk ducts, hormonal inbalance, or on medication.

Regardless, these healthy treats have serious milk boosting properties, especially when taken in conjunction with other methods such as proper hydration and an nutrient-rich & calorie-sufficient diet. It is important to note that a breastfeeding mother shsould be consuming at least 3L to 4L of water per day and will require 500 more calories than the average female, in otder to support milk production.
You can start eating Clookies lactation cookies in the weeks leading up to birth, ideally from Week 36 onwards. Avoid galactagogues with fenugreek as it can induce labor. Our products do not contain fenugreek. We use ground flaxseed, which is safe and beneficial when baked. After giving birth, start consuming Clookies immediately to boost your milk supply. If you notice a dip in milk production, eating Clookies for at least 3 days can help. For sustained results, consume for at least a week and check in with us for personalized advice. Results can be seen in as little as 24 hours!

This is one of our most frequently asked questions! Results from eating Clookies can vary, but most mums see a boost within 3 days of consistent consumption and following our Clookies Munching Guide. Make sure to drink at least 3L of water daily and maintain a good breastfeeding schedule. Results depend on factors like how far along postpartum you are, rest, and your pumping/latching technique. The short answer, it depends.
Generally, we encourage mummies to consume for at least 2 weeks (while following our BF guide) in order to see a sustained increase. Thereafter, you should monitor if there is any drop in your milk supply if you ease off your consumption.
Bear in mind that there are many external factors affecting milk production, such as:
- sufficient rest
- sufficient liquid intake
- frequency & duration of pump / latch
- effectiveness of pump / clearing of milk
- menstral cycle
- stress level, etc.
Often, mummies continue taking Clookies after seeing results, for the period of time that they intend to continue breastfeeding. Afterall, it is the healthier alternative to snacking on commercial snacks in the middle of the night!
And we know... breastfeeding makes us very very hungry, especially in the wee hours!
We recommend enjoying around 8 Clookies lactation cookies per day. For personalized advice, feel free to contact our lactation consultants. You can continue eating them as long as you're nursing or until your milk supply meets your needs. Our cookies are so delicious, you'll want them as treats!
